In the afternoon of December 14th, 2016, the day afterThe National Public Memorial Day of Nanjing Massacre since its establishment in 2014, 17 youngteachers of SEU who had participated in the 55th training program for pre-service teachers came to TheMemorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders to trace that tragic history. Thegloomy sky, appalling tragedy, all that warns us Chinese Nation that a weak nation will always be bulliedby other nations, and the bully actions will be a nation’s disaster.

On December 7th, General Secretary Xi Jinping of the Communist Party of China emphasized theimportance of ideological and political work in higher education institutions, which embraces a closerelationship with the answers to some fundamental questions like what kind of people should wecultivate, how can we cultivate them and for whom these people are cultivated in the National Conferenceon Colleges’ Ideological and Political Work. Xi stated that we should constantly put the morality education in a central position, integrate the ideological and political work throughout the whole education process in order to achieve a full person education and strive to open a new chapter for the development of China’s higher education. It is an important responsibility for our university to help teachers remember the history and carry out the instructions of the General Secretary Xi, and train outstanding teachers and strengthen young teachers’ political and ideological awareness. The establishment of The National Public Memorial Day of Nanjing Massacre has fostered the internalizationof our nation’s pursuit in inheriting the historic responsibility of both country and family, which has become a constant impetus for the great revitalization of Chinese Nation. Young colleges teachers are the future undertakers of higher education development work. To cultivate their political and ideological awareness is a basic guarantee for running universities with Chinese characteristics. On this special day, it is of far-reaching significances to visit the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by JapaneseInvaders.
